In the modern marketplace, companies can benefit greatly from providing a website that is accessible to all users, including those with disabilities.  Organisations with accessible websites have a larger audience and greater revenue potential as well as demonstrating a positive approach to social responsibility.  Furthermore many countries have legal requirements to make all websites accessible to people with disabilities, and a standards-compliant, accessible website is more likely to work well across different platforms and is certainly favoured by search engines.

This practical one day course reveals the benefits of implementing web standards based, accessible web pages, and shows the impact poor site accessibility can have on disabled web users.  It provides a code level guide to common accessibility issues encountered along with detailed technical solutions on how to improve currently inaccessible pages and also ensure your new content is developed to with accessibility in mind. With reference to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0) from the W3C, attendees will be shown how to implement accessible forms, tables, images, navigation and also how to implement accessible multimedia.Through hands-on workshops they will also learn how to test a site for accessibility so that solutions can be put in place on sites that are live or in development.
